The Bank of Canada held its overnight rate at 2.25 percent. It said new tariffs and prolonged high oil prices have increased inflation risks as the economy recovers.
New Zealand's merchandise terms of trade fell 9.0 percent in the June quarter, official data show. Import prices rose 14 percent while export prices increased 3.5 percent.
Australia's goods surplus narrowed by A$418m to A$1.923bn in July. Exports fell 3.3 percent to A$46.261bn, while imports fell 2.5 percent to A$44.339bn.

An interpretive rule filed on Friday reverses the reading of the 2007 statute that NHTSA has used since 2011. It takes no comment, takes effect on publication, and the agency will enforce accordingly in the meantime.

UK goods exports fell £2.2bn, or 6.3 percent, in June to £33.0bn. Over Quarter 2 as a whole they rose £5.5bn, or 5.7 percent. The total trade deficit widened by £0.3bn to £8.0bn.
