ADB raised the 2026 regional growth forecast. It now expects 5.0 percent growth. The ministry summary carried the September outlook.
The July forecast was 4.9 percent. Regional inflation now stands at 4.2 percent. However, 2027 inflation reached 3.5 percent. Officials cited a prolonged El Niño risk.
South Korea received the largest upgrade. Its 2026 forecast climbed 0.6 points. That placed growth at 3.2 percent. Strong chip demand helped drive the revision. Expansionary fiscal policy also supported it.
ADB identified several downside risks. Geopolitical tensions could weaken trade. Market volatility could restrain investment. Further US tariffs could add pressure. The 2027 growth forecast remains 5.1 percent.
