Swiss National Bank holds at zero as its near-term inflation forecast rises
Zero percent.
The Swiss National Bank held its policy rate Thursday and kept the 0.25 percentage point discount applied to sight deposits above its threshold. It also said it remained willing to act in foreign exchange markets.
Inflation rose from 0.6 percent in May to 0.8 percent in August. The bank raised its near-term forecast after oil-product prices exceeded its earlier assumption. It now expects annual inflation of 0.7 percent in 2026 and 0.8 percent in both 2027 and 2028.
Growth is forecast between 1.5 and 2 percent this year. The 2027 forecast remains about 1.5 percent.
