Euro area consumers raised median inflation expectations across every horizon in August, the European Central Bank reported Friday. The one-year measure increased to 3.0 percent from 2.9 percent.

The three-year reading rose to 2.9 percent from 2.7 percent, and five-year expectations moved to 2.5 percent from 2.4 percent. The release says perceived inflation over the past year held at 3.5 percent.

Little else moved. Expected nominal income growth held at 1.0 percent, expected spending growth at 3.6 percent and expected home-price growth at 3.4 percent. The expected unemployment rate eased to 11.0 percent from 11.2 percent.

The monthly online survey covered about 19,000 adults in 11 euro area countries. Fieldwork ran from August 6 through August 24.
