Two Section 301 actions imposed on Chinese imports in 2018 will remain in effect, the Office of the United States Trade Representative said in a notice filed Tuesday.

Neither action expired.

USTR received 68 continuation requests from domestic producers and 18 from trade associations for the action dated July 6, 2018. The action dated August 23, 2018 drew 57 producer requests and 19 association requests.

That is 162 requests in total. The notice says the actions remain subject to possible modification.

USTR will conduct a separate statutory review. It said a later notice will invite comments on whether the actions are effective, what other actions could be taken, and how the measures affect the U.S. economy, including consumers.
