The U.S. tariff schedule changed Tuesday under two presidential proclamations. Newly listed Canadian goods now face the 50 percent Section 338 duty, including on top of Section 232 duties when both apply.

The lists got peculiar. Additions include cheese, paper, steel structures, aluminum goods, metal hardware, golf carts, small passenger vehicles, motorboats, furniture, mattresses and lamps. The companion revision also adds hides, furskins and specific alcohol lines.

Removals include salt, Portland cement other than white cement, chemically pure sugars, certain paper stock, refined lead, switchgear assemblies and fishing rod parts. Two large container alcohol categories also leave the list. The changes apply to covered goods entered after 12:01 a.m. Eastern on September 15.
