Korea's July current account surplus reached $42.08bn as exports rose 65.3 percent
The Bank of Korea's July accounts put the seven-month current account surplus at $233.09bn.
The monthly surplus was $42.08bn, down from $49.73bn in June but up from $11.95bn a year earlier. The goods account did most of it. Exports reached $100.45bn, up 65.3 percent from July 2025, while imports rose 21.7 percent to $60.02bn.
Services subtracted $1.97bn and primary income added $4.35bn. The financial account showed net assets rising $40.32bn, including a $5.40bn net increase from portfolio investment.
The Bank notes that balance-of-payments goods trade differs from customs-basis trade. The two series are not interchangeable.
