South Korea consumer sentiment rises to 106.6 in September

South Korean consumer sentiment rose in September, with the Bank of Korea's composite index at 106.6, up 2.1 points from August. The gauge moved further above 100, the level separating more optimistic from more pessimistic responses.
Households' view of current economic conditions rose four points to 83. Their outlook rose one point to 90, while expected household income increased two points to 102. The index for prospective interest rates climbed three points to 128.
Inflation expectations held steady. Respondents expected consumer prices to rise 2.7 percent over the next year, with three-year and five-year expectations both at 2.6 percent. The survey covered 2,226 households from September 9 through 16.
