Swiss consumer prices rose 0.4 percent in August and 0.8 percent over the year
Swiss consumer prices rose 0.4 percent in August, taking the index to 101.5 on a December 2025 base of 100.
Inflation reached 0.8 percent.
The Federal Statistical Office identified higher housing rents, petrol, diesel, heating oil and inpatient hospital services among the reasons for the monthly increase. International package holidays, car rentals, car sharing and supplementary accommodation became cheaper.
The split matters. Housing and energy costs moved higher even with annual inflation still below 1 percent, while several travel categories pulled the other way. The release does not assign a percentage-point contribution to each item.
