UNCTAD says digitally delivered services grew 7 percent a year
Digitally delivered services grew by an estimated 7 percent a year in value from 2015 through 2024, UNCTAD says. Goods trade grew 4 percent a year over the same period.
The comparison appears in an 82-page report published Monday on how countries can measure the role of services in production and trade. The report calls that growing role servicification.
UNCTAD says developing countries often already collect tax, customs and business data that can be linked for policy research. It points to evidence from Ecuador, Rwanda, Uganda and Uruguay.
This is a measurement report, not a new forecast. Its 7 percent figure is UNCTAD's estimate from existing trade data.
