South Korea's September exports reach record $120.94bn
South Korea exported a record $120.94bn in September, up 83.5 percent from a year earlier, provisional Korea Customs Service data showed Thursday.
Imports rose 26 percent to $71.09bn, leaving a record $49.85bn trade surplus. The calendar worked against it. September had 21.5 working days against 24 a year earlier, while average daily exports more than doubled to $5.63bn.
The full-month release replaces the partial reading for September's first 20 days. Through nine months, exports reached $814.53bn, the first time the cumulative total has crossed $800bn by that point. The agency says the figures can be revised until annual statistics are finalized in February 2027.
