Euro area producer prices rose 1.6 percent in July, and energy supplied all of it

Euro area industrial producer prices rose 1.6 percent in July from June, Eurostat reported Thursday. Across the European Union, they rose 1.4 percent.
Energy moved the whole index.
Euro area energy prices increased 5.6 percent in the month. Prices excluding energy did not move. Capital goods rose 0.3 percent, intermediate goods and durable consumer goods were unchanged, and non-durable consumer goods fell 0.1 percent.
Against July 2025, producer prices were 5.8 percent higher in the euro area and 5.6 percent higher across the EU. Euro area energy prices rose 12.9 percent, while the index excluding energy increased 3.1 percent.
Ireland recorded the largest monthly increase among member states at 4.3 percent. Estonia recorded the largest fall at 3.3 percent.
