Lee County

Set at the county level, and it lands on every parcel in Fort Myers.

An empty row of swings hanging from red steel arches stands on blue rubber safety surfacing in a public park at dusk, with unlit lamp standards, a bench, palms and other trees behind it and houses on a low rise beyond. A distant street sign at the roadside is too small to read, and no person, agency marking or identifiable place is visible in the frame. It is a stock photograph and not a photograph of this event.Stock photo

Cape Coral has the power off at Veterans Park while the Parks and Recreation Department finishes a round of upgrades, which leaves the lights and the restrooms out, and the city is asking people who use the park after dark to go somewhere else for now

The city says a planned outage at Veterans Park, 4140 Coronado Parkway, has the lights and restrooms out while parks upgrades continue. The park is open by day with portable toilets, and no restoration date has been given.

The state water district has put a 34,336 dollar civil penalty on the developer of the Seven Islands project in Cape Coral over mangroves cleared without permits, and the district says the money has not been paid yet

The South Florida Water Management District puts the civil penalties and investigation costs against Gulf Gateway Resort and Marina at 34,336.51 dollars. Shoreline stabilisation began on August 18, and replanting waits on approval of a restoration plan.
