NeoGenomics, the cancer diagnostics company headquartered in south Fort Myers, says Medicare has extended coverage of its RaDaR ST test to a third indication.
In an announcement posted to its investor relations site on the afternoon of August 26, the company said the Molecular Diagnostic Services Program, known as MolDX, which sets Medicare coverage for molecular diagnostics, had expanded coverage of the assay to include monitoring of a patient's response to immune-checkpoint inhibitor therapy in late-stage solid tumours.
The company states that this is the third Medicare-covered indication for RaDaR ST. The other two are HPV-negative head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and a subset of hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer. Two further submissions for the test are pending with the programme, according to the announcement, which does not identify them.
RaDaR ST is a molecular residual disease assay. The company describes it as tumour-informed, analysing up to 48 patient-specific variants identified through whole-exome sequencing to detect circulating tumour DNA, and says it supports three uses: assessing recurrence risk after surgery intended to be curative, monitoring for recurrence during surveillance, and tracking response during systemic therapy.
Tony Zook, the company's chief executive, is quoted in the announcement describing the decision as "a cornerstone of our launch of RaDaR ST" and saying the company continues to anticipate further reimbursement decisions in the coming years.
The company puts the size of the newly covered population in its own terms, saying that immunotherapy accounts for an estimated 55 percent of treated lung cancer cases and 70 percent of treated melanoma cases. Those are the company's figures, carrying a reference in its announcement, and are not independently verified here.
NeoGenomics, Inc. trades on the Nasdaq as NEO. Its most recent annual report, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission in February for the year ended December 31, 2025, gives its principal executive offices as 9490 NeoGenomics Way in Fort Myers and reports approximately 2,500 full-time equivalent employees, including contracted pathologists, across the company as a whole.
The announcement does not quantify what the coverage decision is worth to the company, and no figure is asserted here.
This desk last covered the company in July, when it agreed to pay 9.8 million dollars to settle a matter it had voluntarily disclosed to the Office of Inspector General at the Department of Health and Human Services, without admitting liability. That matter is unrelated to the coverage decision reported here.
