Lee County flood advisory expires after heavy rain
A National Weather Service Flood Advisory covering Lee County expired at 9:45 p.m. Sunday. It had included Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Buckingham, Iona and Tice.

A National Weather Service Flood Advisory that covered Lee County expired at 9:45 p.m. Sunday.
The Weather Service said Doppler radar indicated heavy rain from thunderstorms at 7:38 p.m. Up to 2.5 inches had fallen, and another one half to one and one half inches were expected during the advisory period.
Urban and small stream flooding was expected. The alert said minor flooding was possible in low lying and poor drainage areas, with water over roads.
Cape Coral, Fort Myers, East Dunbar, Buckingham, Palmona Park, Lochmoor Waterway Estates, Pine Manor, Villas, Olga, McGregor, Cypress Lake, Harlem Heights, Iona, Tice, Page Field Airport, Page Park, North Fort Myers, Suncoast Estates and Fort Myers Shores are among the communities named.
The advisory is no longer active. Drivers should still turn around rather than enter standing water; darkness can make flood hazards harder to recognize.
