A Fort Myers man is in custody in Lee County on seven counts, and the county's own booking record shows no bond set on any of them.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office publishes its booking database as a public search, and this publication queried it directly on Wednesday evening rather than resting on the television account alone.

That record returns one matching booking. Adam Jeffrey Vaughn, 37, was booked at 1.33 a.m. on Wednesday under booking number 1029731. Seven counts are recorded against him, all under case number 26CF016731, with the Lee County Sheriff's Office listed as the arresting agency and a hearing listed for 8.30 a.m. on September 8 in circuit court. The record showed no release as of Wednesday evening.

Three of the counts are threat counts. Two are recorded under offence code 836.10(2)(a), which the jail describes as a written or electronic threat to kill or do bodily harm to another person. One is recorded under offence code 836.10, described as a written or electronic threat to conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism. Section 836.10 of the Florida statutes covers threats made in writing or electronically in any manner in which they may be viewed by another person, and it makes each of those offences a felony of the second degree.

The remaining four are drug counts. One is recorded under offence code 893.135(1)(m)1, described as trafficking in synthetic cannabinoids of 280 grams or more. Section 893.135(1)(m) makes trafficking in synthetic cannabinoids a felony of the first degree, and 280 grams is the threshold at which its lowest tier begins. Two counts are recorded under offence code 893.13(6)(a), possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and one under offence code 893.147(1), possession or use of drug equipment.

Every one of the seven counts carries a disposition of no bond, a bond amount recorded as not set, and no posted date. That is the detail the booking record adds.

The account of what he is alleged to have done comes from WINK News, and is attributed there to the Lee County Sheriff's Office. This publication has not read the arrest affidavit or the charging document, and none of the following appears in the booking record.

On that account, the sheriff's office received an email carrying explicit threats along with links to online content and other electronic evidence, and detectives traced that evidence to a Google Drive account holding videos. Sheriff Carmine Marceno is reported to have said the videos included threats to burn down the Farah and Farah law firm and threats against himself, other members of his office and State Attorney Amira Fox. WINK reports that Vaughn was arrested without incident and that a search warrant executed at his residence produced more than three pounds of synthetic marijuana together with THC powder, wax and vape products.

WINK describes the arrest as having happened on Tuesday. The booking record timestamps the booking at 1.33 a.m. on Wednesday, which is what an arrest late on Tuesday followed by a booking after midnight looks like in the record. The booking time is the one published here because it is the one the record holds.

None of that is a finding. The charges are accusations that no court has tested, no plea has been reported, and no response from Vaughn or from anyone acting for him is available to this publication. The State Attorney has not yet filed the charging document that determines which counts are pursued.

The sheriff's office says the same thing on the front of the database itself. Its records reflect the circumstances of an arrest and the information available at the time, have no connection to a finding of guilt or innocence or to an acquittal or dismissal, and do not reflect the final disposition of any charge. It directs readers to leeclerk.org for dispositions.

The sheriff's office published no release document on its news page that this publication could retrieve on Wednesday evening, so the statements attributed to the sheriff are carried here only as WINK reports them.
