For a household in Paseo, Reflection Isles or Botanica Lakes the practical question tonight is simply whether the notice still stands, and the only authoritative answer the city has published is a map that says active and tells you nothing else. Two readings of that silence are possible and this site cannot choose between them from the outside. Either the notice genuinely remains in force into its third day, or it was lifted at some point and nobody updated the layer. The second reading is not idle speculation, because Cape Coral, which runs a comparable map a few miles away, rescinded a notice at 9.57 a.m. on Friday and had the change visible the same morning, and cleared an entire cluster within seven minutes on Thursday. A utility that maintains its map in near real time looks nothing like this one. What tips the balance toward taking it seriously is the third day of an unreachable website. The pages that would normally carry the notice text, the affected address list and the lift announcement cannot be read at all, from any network tried, on either port, and that has now been true continuously since Wednesday. So the information gap is not a matter of a map being thin while the real notice sits elsewhere. There is no elsewhere to read. Residents in the three communities should treat the city's Public Utilities Department, by telephone, as the only reliable authority on whether the advisory applies to their address and when it lifts, and should not read the blank fields on the map as evidence that it has ended. A precautionary boil water notice is a precaution and not a finding of contamination, and utilities in this region issue them routinely when main pressure drops below 20 psi, which is worth knowing before anyone panics. The reason this is being reported a second time is that duration is itself the story. A notice that appears and clears inside a day is ordinary utility work. One that sits untouched for fifty-three hours, against a dark website, with no outlet in the region having mentioned it, is a communications failure that residents are absorbing on their own, and it is the sort of thing a local paper exists to say out loud.

The layer holds the same three areas it held then, and all three are still coded Active. Its editing metadata reports the same last edit timestamp this site recorded on Wednesday, 4.24 p.m. Eastern on July 29, which means no edit of any kind has been entered against it in the fifty-three hours since. No rescission date has been added. No start time has been filled in. No cause has been recorded, and the name field on all three records remains blank.

The three areas were re-checked independently rather than assumed. One interior point inside each polygon was reverse geocoded, and they return Paseo Drive in Paseo, Water Tupelo Road in Reflection Isles, and Botanica Lakes Boulevard in Botanica Lakes. Those are the same three communities the shapes covered on Wednesday, which follows from the layer having taken no edit at all.

The city's website is still dark. Both www.fortmyers.gov and www.cityftmyers.com resolve to 208.90.191.93, and connections to that address timed out at the connect stage on port 443 and on port 80. That has been the position on every check since Wednesday, so the page that would normally carry the notice text, an affected address list and any announcement that the advisory had been lifted has been unreadable for the entire life of the notice.

No Southwest Florida outlet had reported the notice as of about 9.10 p.m. Eastern on Friday. WINK News carried no boil water item on its front page or its Collier County section.

Two neighbouring systems were checked at the same time and neither forms part of this. Cape Coral, which runs its own utility and its own map, has one active area at 2623 Fairmont Cove Court, entered against a water main break, and it is unrelated to the Fort Myers areas. The Collier County advisory layer returns no active features.

Residents in Paseo, Reflection Isles and Botanica Lakes should treat the Fort Myers Public Utilities Department, reached by telephone, as the authority on whether the notice applies to their address and when it lifts. The blank fields on the map are not evidence that it has ended.

Community names were re-derived independently for this report rather than carried over: the polygon geometry was pulled in WGS84 and one interior point per shape was reverse geocoded against OpenStreetMap Nominatim.
