Cape Coral lifted its precautionary boil water notice for the area near 256 SE Santa Barbara Place at about 8:56 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, according to the city's rescinded notice record. The notice followed a water main break on Monday morning, October 19.
Two other areas remain on the city's active list, both tied to water main breaks and neither with a rescission date. One is near 2409 Santa Barbara Boulevard South, added early Wednesday. The other is near 3606 SE 1st Place, a record the city updated Wednesday morning.
The listed addresses identify the advisory areas on the map, not every affected property. Residents can check their address using the map linked from the city's boil water page.
For customers still under a notice, the city recommends bringing water to a rolling boil for one minute before drinking or cooking with it, or using bottled water. Showering and laundry are not restricted. The city lifts a notice after bacteriological samples tested by the Lee County Health Department come back satisfactory.
