Cape Coral lists a new precautionary boil water area near 256 SE Santa Barbara Place after a water main break.

The city's active boil water layer records a water service interruption at about 10:14 a.m. Monday, October 19. The record identifies drinking water as the affected system and carries no rescission date.

It is the only active boil water area on the city map. The area near 1519 SW 53rd Lane, which had been listed last week, was rescinded on Sunday morning.

The map shows the affected polygon around the listed location. Residents should use the city map to determine whether a specific property is inside the notice area.

Cape Coral's standing guidance is to bring water to a rolling boil for one minute before using or consuming it, or to use bottled water instead, until the notice is rescinded.
