AT&T now expects adjusted earnings of about $2.40 a share for 2026, up from a range of $2.25 to $2.35 in July, according to its third-quarter results filed with the SEC on Wednesday. Adjusted EPS for the quarter was $0.65, against $0.54 a year earlier.

Revenue rose 5.3 percent to $32.3bn. Reported earnings fell hard. Diluted EPS from continuing operations was $0.13, against $1.29, after a $2.6bn non-cash impairment on the Mexico wireless business AT&T has agreed to sell and charges for employee separations; the year-earlier figure included a gain on the sale of its DIRECTV stake.

The company added 769,000 internet customers across fiber and fixed wireless, which it called a record quarter, and 379,000 postpaid phone customers with churn of 0.92 percent. Free cash flow was $5.0bn.

Capital investment guidance for 2027 and 2028 drops to $22bn to $23bn a year, from $23bn to $24bn. The 2026 range is unchanged.
