Breeze Airways is pausing its Fort Myers to Albany route for the whole of September, blaming fuel costs, and says the flights come back in October

Breeze Airways is suspending its flights from Fort Myers to Albany for the month of September, Gulf Coast News reports.

The airline told the outlet that high fuel costs played a role in the temporary one month suspension, which it is making as part of temporary cuts to its route network.

The route between Southwest Florida International and Albany will return in October, according to that report, with those flights already on sale.

The pause comes alongside other suspensions and reductions across the airline. The report gives one other example: Fort Lauderdale to Akron Canton is dropping from two flights a week to one.

Breeze is still scheduled to fly considerably more than it did at this time last year. Gulf Coast News, citing Simple Flying, reports the airline is set to operate 6,823 flights in September 2026 against 4,755 in September 2025. Those are counts across the whole airline rather than figures for Fort Myers, and they are the outlet's citation of a third publication rather than a figure from Breeze.
