Two things moved on the county map since this morning, and only one of them still needs anything from a resident. The Forest Knoll Court notice is over. Lee County rescinded it at 9.46 a.m. on Friday, 48 hours and 46 minutes after the nine o'clock Wednesday stamp the record carried, which puts the lift just inside the 48 to 72 hour bacteriological testing window the county says these normally take. That notice covered a single address, so the reach was one property rather than a street, and there is nothing further for anyone on it to do. That leaves one open notice in the whole Lee County Utilities system, and it is the one with a clock on it. The fireline repair at 15631 through 15671 San Carlos Boulevard, on the Iona side of Fort Myers, is stamped for 2.00 p.m. on Friday, and the county has not edited that record since it created it on Wednesday morning, so as of early Friday afternoon the hour still stands as written. If your address falls in that range, the window to fill containers or run anything that needs water has effectively closed, and the useful thing now is simply to expect the interruption rather than to be surprised by it. Check the range literally rather than by feel, because the county names these address by address and not by neighbourhood. Two points of caution carry over from this morning and are worth repeating because neither has changed. The county's map is the only practical way to check this, since the published notices page carries no list of individual notices at all, and the map's own note says it is updated daily by four in the afternoon, so a notice that goes up in the evening may not appear until the following day. The number attached to both of these records, and the one to call to report a problem, is (239) 533-8845. One structural note for anyone tracking this map over time rather than checking a single address on it. The layer held nine records on August 11, eight this morning and six now, so records are leaving it rather than accumulating on it with a lift date attached. That means the map answers the question of what is open right now, which is what a resident needs, but it is not an archive and it should not be read as one. If you need to establish that a notice covered your address on a particular date, the record for it may simply not be there to find later. Lee County Utilities and the City of Cape Coral remain separate systems on separate maps, and a Cape Coral address is not covered by anything in this item.

Lee County Utilities lifted one of its two open water notices on Friday morning, August 14, leaving a single open record on the county map.

The county's map service was queried directly at 1.20 p.m. Eastern. It now returns six records in total. Five carry a lift date. One does not.

The notice that closed is the water main cut and cap at 10300 Forest Knoll Court, in the Harlem Heights area. The county rescinded it at 9.46 a.m. on Friday. Its incident stamp was nine o'clock on Wednesday morning, which puts the elapsed time at 48 hours and 46 minutes. The county lifts these notices after bacteriological testing, which it says usually takes 48 to 72 hours, so the lift falls just inside that window. The record listed a single affected address.

The one still open is on San Carlos Boulevard. The county gives the affected addresses as 15631 through 15671 San Carlos Boulevard, describes the work in its own words as a fireline repair, and stamps the incident for 2.00 p.m. on Friday. That record was created on Wednesday morning and has not been edited since, so the stated hour has not been moved or withdrawn.

That stretch falls in the Iona area of Fort Myers on the Census Bureau geocoding of the county's own polygon, which this site read earlier on Friday. The polygon is unchanged.

The Forest Knoll Court record also changed type code when it was lifted, from SSD to BWR. The same thing happened to the Wittman Drive record when that one closed on Wednesday. The county does not publish what its type codes mean, either on the map or on its notices page, so no meaning is claimed for that here.

The layer has shrunk again. It held nine records when this site first read it on August 11, eight at half past six on Friday morning, and six on Friday afternoon. Two more records have left the map rather than been marked as rescinded on it. The six that remain run consecutively from OBJECTID 1547 to 1552. Which records left cannot be determined from the current response.

Lee County's published Precautionary Boil Water Notices page still carries no list of individual notices. It directs residents to an automated hotline on 239-533-8575, updated daily by 4 p.m., and to the interactive map. The contact number attached to the open record is (239) 533-8845.

The City of Cape Coral runs a separate water system on a separate map, and a Cape Coral address is not covered by this notice. That map was not read on this pass, so no Cape Coral figure is given here in either direction.
