Tyler Watkins and Kendall Brandt of Gulf Coast News reported that deputies responded to both Evangelical Christian School campuses Friday after a threatening call to the main campus.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office said the response began after deputies received a tip. The agency said there was no immediate threat to the public while deputies were at the campuses.

In a later update, the sheriff's office said its bomb squad and K9 unit swept both campuses and found no suspicious items.

The agency said preliminary information indicated that the suspicious call originated outside the United States. It said the investigation remained open.

The campus response is over. The brief does not carry a breaking flag.
