Old Olga Road closes at 8 a.m. from State Road 80 to Cristobal Street for a week of sewer repairs

Old Olga Road will close at 8 a.m. Thursday between State Road 80, also called Palm Beach Boulevard, and Cristobal Street while Lee County repairs a broken sewer line, according to the county's news release.

Tyler Watkins of Gulf Coast News reported the planned closure Wednesday afternoon. The county expects the road to reopen by Friday, October 2, weather permitting.

No through traffic will be possible on the closed section. Residences and businesses there will remain accessible by detours on Montego Drive and Cristobal Street.

Lee County says detour signs will be in place. Drivers should expect delays and avoid the area if they can.
