Southwest Florida boil water notices, outages and road closures: the record
Every drinking water advisory, utility outage and road closure this newsroom has reported across Collier and Lee counties, by community and by date, each one linked to the coverage and the official source underneath it.
This page is a record, not a live status board. Every entry below is dated
and describes conditions as they were reported. For the current state of
drinking water advisories, refreshed from each utility's own public data, see
the boil water tracker. In an emergency, confirm
with your utility or with the county directly.
Southwest Florida loses water, power and roads often enough that a single news
story is the wrong shape for the question people actually ask, which is whether
this has happened here before and what came of it. This page keeps that record.
It covers 46 reported disruptions across Collier and Lee,
from July 24, 2026 to August 9, 2026,
and it grows every time the desk files another one.

Where these come from
Every entry links our own coverage, and that coverage links the primary
document underneath it: the utility's own notice, the county's alert page, the
Florida Highway Patrol incident record, or the operator's outage statement. We
do not paraphrase an advisory and leave you to trust us. The official pages the
desk works from are listed on the boil water
tracker and in each story.
A note on what this record does not prove. It counts disruptions we
reported, not every disruption that occurred. A small notice that no outlet
covered and no utility posted publicly will not appear here. Treat the counts
as a floor.
