The lanes are open again on Livingston Road at Carlton Lakes Boulevard in North Naples, where a crash with injuries blocked the southbound side for about an hour

An overhead close crop of coarse dark asphalt, its aggregate clearly visible, with a band of worn yellow road paint running across the upper right corner and a faded pale marking beneath it. Two small dry leaves rest on the surface. No people, vehicles, signage, horizon or legible text are visible, and no place can be identified from it. Pexels titles it a textured urban surface with yellow and black contrast. An abstract road surface used as a plain illustration, not a photograph of Livingston Road, of Naples or of this crash.

The southbound lanes of Livingston Road are open again at Carlton Lakes Boulevard in North Naples, about an hour after a crash with injuries blocked them.

The Florida Highway Patrol received the call at 10.22 p.m. on Monday, dispatched at 10.23 p.m. and had a unit on scene at 10.28 p.m. The record is coded as a crash with injuries and a roadblock.

Its remarks field moved twice. On captures at 10.24 p.m. and 10.29 p.m. it read that the southbound lanes were blocked. When this desk read the board directly, minutes later, it read that the southbound left lane was blocked. On two further reads at 11.32 p.m. and 11.33 p.m., against the server's own clock, it read no roadblock.

The incident record itself is still standing on the state's live incident view. There is no cleared column in that view, so a record can remain open while units finish on scene after the road has reopened, and it is the remarks field rather than the presence of the record that carries the road status. The arrival time is the arrival of the first unit, not a resolution.

Livingston Road carries three lanes in each direction at that point. That was checked independently: an OpenStreetMap query for named ways within 150 metres of the crash coordinates returns two carriageways, both named Livingston Road, both tagged as primary roads carrying county road 881, each one way with three lanes. The same coordinates reverse geocode to Carlton Lakes Boulevard in the Willoughby Acres area of Collier County, postcode 34110.

That lane count is why the intermediate stage cost drivers a merge rather than a diversion, and it is now moot. Anyone still routing around the junction has Airport Pulling Road to the west and Interstate 75 to the east, with Immokalee Road running between them, but the direct route is open.

Nothing in the record supports a description of the cause, and none is offered here. The Highway Patrol has released no account of how the crash happened, has said nothing about how many people were hurt and has named nobody. The Collier County Sheriff's Office has published nothing on it, and no outlet had carried the crash when this was written.

This brief was first published while the left lane was blocked and was rewritten at 11.35 p.m. to report the reopening.
