Tanker sights explosions south of Al Mukha, UKMTO says
United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said a tanker sighted multiple explosions close by, 60 nautical miles south of Al Mukha, Yemen, on Sunday.
The agency's Warning 151-26 lists the source as a company security officer. It records the report at 1650 UTC and classifies the incident as suspicious activity.
The crew was safe. No environmental impact was reported. UKMTO said authorities were investigating.
UKMTO did not name the tanker or identify a cause or responsible party. It advised vessels to transit with caution and report suspicious activity.
