Iran's rial weakens past 2.68 million per dollar in open market
Bonbast listed the U.S. dollar at 268,800 tomans in Iran's open market on Saturday. Because one toman equals 10 rials, that is 2.688 million rials per dollar.
The rate was 263,200 tomans on Friday in Bonbast's archive. The change means the rial weakened about 2.1 percent against the dollar.
That happened in one day.
A second tracker, Alanchand, listed a 269,500 toman selling rate, equal to 2.695 million rials per dollar.
The two feeds are unofficial open-market quotes, not the Central Bank of Iran's administered rate. Neither source shows how much currency changed hands at the displayed prices.
