Trump names four officials to lead new federal AI task force
President Donald Trump formed a federal task force to coordinate government policy on artificial intelligence, Kaia Hubbard at CBS News reported Sunday.
Four officials will lead it.
The announcement names Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton, Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Pentagon technology chief Emil Michael and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor. The group will report to Trump and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
Trump said the task force will coordinate federal engagement with consumers, public interest groups, religious organizations, critical infrastructure providers and AI companies. The announcement sets no deadline, budget or new regulatory authority.
