The executive branch must replace “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI” with “Super Intelligence” and “SI” in official communications, websites, reports and other non-statutory documents, under an order filed Thursday.

The order does not rewrite existing regulations, contracts, grants or historical documents. For now, SI retains the statutory definition already used for artificial intelligence.

The legal definition may change.

Within 60 days, the White House science adviser must propose legislation addressing the definition, conforming amendments to existing statutes and any additional executive action.
