Corkscrew and Alico road work brings overnight and weekend lane restrictions October 23 to 26

In short

Corkscrew Road will have nightly lane closures at Alico Road from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. during work scheduled for October 23 through October 26, 2026. Lee County also plans Alico Road lane reductions throughout the work period. The October 16 update puts Phase 2 completion in late spring 2027.

Corkscrew Road lane closures at Alico Road are scheduled for 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. during intersection reconstruction from Friday, October 23, through Monday, October 26, according to Lee County's October 16 update published by the Village of Estero.

The county also lists lane reductions on northbound and southbound Alico Road for the entire work period. Flaggers and law enforcement will direct traffic. The update encourages alternate routes and warns that weather or unforeseen underground conditions may change the schedule.

Daytime paving is also planned between the main Corkscrew Shores entrance and Alico Road. Trucks will enter and leave the roadway, and sidewalk work on the south side may require pedestrian diversions.

The latest update estimates late spring 2027 completion for the approximately $27m Phase 2 project. It cites additional Lee County Utilities work and delays in FPL and Lumen utility relocations.
