Tyler Watkins at Gulf Coast News reported that a vehicle fire spread inside Florida Gulf Coast University Parking Garage 2. A public post from the San Carlos Park fire district confirms that its crews were dispatched shortly before noon Tuesday.
The outlet, citing the fire district, reports that crews found smoke and flames coming from a vehicle engine compartment. The fire spread to a neighboring vehicle before firefighters extinguished it.
Two vehicles had major damage and a third had heat damage to its roof and side, according to the district account relayed by Gulf Coast News. The department reported no injuries.
FGCU Emergency Management listed the campus at normal operations with no current emergency advisory after the response. Neither public authority page states whether any spaces in Garage 2 remain unavailable.
