Customers of ConnectWise Cloud Backup cannot run scheduled backups or access affected archives and restoration tools, the company said in its October 18 update. There is no restoration time.

The 01:00 UTC advisory says ConnectWise also took SaaS Security and Cloud Management offline while investigating unauthorized access to application identities associated with Cloud Backup, formerly SkyKick. Monitoring and alerts through SaaS Security, and user and license management through Cloud Management, are unavailable.

ConnectWise says existing backup archives remain encrypted, isolated and preserved, with no evidence they were accessed. That finding does not resolve possible activity inside customers' live Microsoft 365 environments, which the company says it cannot independently determine from its backup service. It has asked partners to review their own and managed customer environments.
