Meta releases Muse Spark Open with commercial licensing conditions
Meta released downloadable weights for Muse Spark Open on October 15, describing an AI model with 816 billion total parameters in its announcement.
The license has commercial conditions. Its model-as-a-service clause requires providers to notify Meta and enter a separate agreement before offering the model if their gross revenue, combined with affiliates, exceeds $20m in any consecutive 12 months.
That clause excludes internal use and businesses using the model to power features of their own products without offering models as a service. The license also requires attribution in products or accompanying materials.
Meta says the model can run locally using two Apple Mac Studio computers with M5 Ultra chips. Hosted access is also available through partner platforms.
