ASML is examining a larger capacity increase for 2028 after concluding that its existing production plans will fall short of customer demand in both 2027 and 2028, the company said in its quarterly results.

Sales reached a quarterly record.

Third-quarter revenue was €11.662bn, up from €9.326bn in the second quarter. Net income rose to €4.960bn from €2.918bn, while gross margin widened to 57.5 percent from 54.0 percent.

Chief executive Christophe Fouquet said the company is investigating expansion beyond the additional 30 percent capacity increase previously discussed for 2028. Some customers have expressed interest in orders for 2029 and 2030.

ASML expects fourth-quarter sales of €14.2bn to €15.2bn and full-year sales of €44bn to €45bn. Those figures are forecasts.
