SSI recipients get two payments in July and none in August
Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries received a payment on 1 July and will receive another on Friday 31 July. The second is the August benefit. The Social Security Administration moves an SSI payment to the last business day of the preceding month when the first falls on a weekend or a federal holiday, and 1 August 2026 is a Saturday. No SSI payment arrives in August. Eric Revell at Fox Business reported the schedule on 7 July and noted the pattern repeats twice more this year, because 1 November is a Sunday and 1 January is a federal holiday, so those benefits are paid on 30 October and 31 December. Nothing about the benefit amount changes. SSI serves people with limited income who are 65 or older, blind, or disabled.
