Flood advisory for Golden Gate Estates and northwestern Collier ended at 4:15 p.m.

A National Weather Service Flood Advisory for northwestern Collier County ended at 4:15 p.m. Saturday.

The Weather Service said Doppler radar indicated heavy rain from thunderstorms at 3:19 p.m. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain had fallen, and another 1 to 2 inches was expected during the advisory period.

During the advisory, minor flooding was ongoing or expected to begin shortly in low lying and poor drainage areas. Golden Gate Estates, Vineyards, Golden Gate, North Naples and East Naples were among the locations named.

Although the advisory has ended, residents should continue to watch for standing water and should not drive onto a flooded road.
