The strong storm statement near Loop Road expired at 4 p.m.

A National Weather Service Special Weather Statement for inland Collier County expired at 4 p.m. Friday. Radar had indicated a strong storm near Loop Road moving northeast at 5 mph, with possible wind gusts of 45 to 50 mph.

A National Weather Service Special Weather Statement for inland Collier County expired at 4 p.m. Friday.

Radar indicated a strong storm over Loop Road EE Center at 3:26 p.m., about 23 miles east of Chokoloskee. It was moving northeast at 5 mph.

Possible wind gusts of 45 to 50 mph could knock down tree limbs and send unsecured objects blowing. The Weather Service also warned of torrential rain that may cause localized flooding and frequent cloud to ground lightning.

Loop Road EE Center, Fortymile Bend, Big Cypress National Preserve, Dade-Collier Training Airport and Everglades National Park are among the listed locations.

The statewide active-alert feed showed no replacement alert for Collier County at 4 p.m.
