Collier County added two measles cases in Florida's latest weekly report, bringing its 2026 total to 110.

Gulf Coast News reporter Carson Zorn first reported the increase Thursday morning. Money & World confirmed the count in the Florida Department of Health's interactive disease report.

The state table lists 110 cases among Collier County residents from January 1 through August 29. Running the same report through August 22 produces a Collier count of 108, confirming that two cases were added in the latest reporting week.

Florida's statewide total is 158. Lee County has three cases in the same report.

What the figures show

The health department says the numbers are preliminary and are updated on Thursdays through the end of the prior federal reporting week. Cases are assigned by county of residence.

The county table does not identify where the two people live within Collier County. It also does not provide their ages, vaccination status, possible exposure sites or places of treatment.

This is a weekly case count, not a public exposure notice. The Florida report can be rerun as the state updates its data.
