ALDI opens in Immokalee a day before its scheduled ribbon cutting

ALDI opened its Immokalee store to customers Wednesday, one day before the scheduled grand opening, WINK News reporter Haley Jacobs reported.

The store is at 1602 Lake Trafford Road, in the former Winn-Dixie location. It restores a full-service grocery option inside Immokalee after residents had spent nearly a year traveling to Ave Maria, Lehigh Acres, Naples or Fort Myers for larger grocery trips.

WINK reports that the official ribbon cutting remains scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Thursday. The store's regular hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day.

Money & World reported the planned September 24 opening after ALDI announced the date. Wednesday's soft opening moves the practical start one day earlier: customers have already entered the store and made purchases.
