Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance plans to open the fourth building in its affordable-housing community in December, adding 16 apartments, Gulfshore Business reporter Adam Regan reported Tuesday.

Applications opened September 1. Regan reports that more than 100 families are already on the waiting list. The nonprofit's current website does not publish a housing application form, so prospective tenants should contact the organization directly and verify instructions before sending documents or personal information.

The community at 2070 Corazon de la Comunidad Circle has three occupied buildings with 48 apartments and nearly 100 children, according to Regan. A fifth 16-unit building is under construction with an opening planned for spring 2027. The full development is planned for 128 apartments.

The alliance's May construction update confirms that work on the fourth building was underway and says a $72,000 League Club grant would pay for its cabinets and countertops. That update does not give the December opening target or the current application status, which come from Regan's report.

Regan also reports that the community center is open and offers financial, legal, education and health services. For prospective tenants, the immediate change is the September application window for the next 16 apartments, with the organization itself the safest source for current instructions.
