Estero Village Council adopted a final operating property tax rate of 0.7300 mills for fiscal 2026-27, according to Resolution 2026-25 and the village's archived council meeting.
The rate equals 73 cents for every $1,000 of taxable property value. It matches the prior-year rate and is 0.49% below the 0.7336-mill rolled-back rate.
The rolled-back rate is the rate that would generate the prior year's property tax revenue from the current tax base, excluding new construction. A final rate below that benchmark is classified as a tax decrease under Florida's Truth in Millage process.
The council first set 0.7300 mills as its proposed maximum rate in July. Money & World reported that preliminary decision before the two required budget hearings. Wednesday's vote made the rate final for the fiscal year that begins October 1.
Keeping the millage unchanged does not guarantee that every Estero property owner will owe the same village tax as last year. Bills also depend on each property's taxable value and exemptions, along with rates imposed by other local taxing authorities.
