Flood advisory for Cape Coral and Punta Rassa expires after heavy rain

A National Weather Service Flood Advisory for southwestern Lee County expired at 6:15 p.m. Saturday without an extension.
The Weather Service said Doppler radar indicated heavy rain from thunderstorms at 4:50 p.m. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain had fallen, and another 0.5 to 1.5 inches was expected during the advisory period.
Urban and small stream flooding was expected during the advisory. The alert said minor flooding in low lying and poor drainage areas and water over roads were possible. Cape Coral, Lochmoor Waterway Estates and Punta Rassa were among the locations named.
Drivers should watch for standing water and should turn around rather than enter a flooded road.
