Flood Advisory covers southern Lee County through 5:15 p.m. with water possible over roads

In short

A Flood Advisory is active for southern Lee County until 5:15 p.m. Friday. The National Weather Service says heavy rain may cause minor flooding in low areas and put water over roads.

A Flood Advisory is active for southern Lee County until 5:15 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Tampa Bay.

The Weather Service says heavy thunderstorms have produced as much as 2.5 inches of rain. Another 0.5 to 1.5 inches is expected during the advisory period. Minor flooding is expected in low lying and poor drainage areas, and water may cover roads.

The advisory includes Fort Myers Beach, San Carlos Park, Three Oaks, Cypress Lake, Harlem Heights, Iona, Estero and Punta Rassa. Drivers should not enter flooded roads.
