The National Weather Service issued a Flood Advisory for southwestern Lee County through 9:45 p.m. Saturday.
The advisory included Cape Coral, Iona, Matlacha Isles-Matlacha Shores and Punta Rassa. The weather service said minor flooding was occurring or expected in low-lying and poor-drainage areas, with ponding possible on roads and in urban areas.
Radar indicated that 3 to 4 inches of rain had fallen by 7:41 p.m. The agency expected another 1 to 2 inches in the advisory area.
Drivers should turn around at flooded roads rather than try to cross them.
