The city posted the area at about 6:43 a.m. Its active map identifies drinking water as affected and carries no rescission date.
What residents should do
Bring tap water to a rolling boil for one minute before using it for drinking, cooking or other consumption. Bottled water is an alternative.
Cape Coral says the precaution mainly applies to water that is swallowed. Showering and laundry are not restricted.
