Cape Coral lifts six boil water notices Thursday morning, leaving two active areas

The City of Cape Coral lifted six precautionary boil water notices Thursday morning.

The rescissions cover the former mapped areas near 608 SE 1st Avenue, 2706 SE Santa Barbara Place, 4320 SW 1st Avenue, 165 SE 18th Terrace, 5832 Armada Court and 2009 NE 2nd Terrace.

Residents inside those six areas no longer need to boil tap water under those notices.

Two notices remain active

The six rescissions are not a citywide all clear. Cape Coral still lists two precautionary boil water areas as active, one near Country Club Boulevard and one around 4932 SW 11th Avenue.

Residents near either active area should continue to boil tap water for one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, ice, food preparation, teeth brushing or dishes, or use bottled water.

Cape Coral publishes mapped boundaries rather than street lists or household counts. Anyone near an active area should check the city map before changing precautions.

The notices cleared over 45 minutes

The first of the six rescissions was recorded at 8:55 a.m. near SE 18th Terrace. The others followed near SE Santa Barbara Place at 9 a.m., NE 2nd Terrace at 9:15 a.m., Armada Court at 9:24 a.m., SE 1st Avenue at 9:33 a.m. and SW 1st Avenue at 9:40 a.m.

Each notice followed a water main break. The city records do not publish household counts for the affected areas.
