Cape Coral lifted its two oldest boil water notices within six minutes of each other on Wednesday morning, clearing 233 addresses, and one of them had run 116 hours, the longest single notice this site has tracked in the city

The tap is off and the sink is empty and dry. There is no person in the frame, no signage, no lettering and no brand mark, and no place can be identified from it. Cape Coral lifted its two oldest boil water notices within six minutes of each other on Wednesday morning, clearing 233 addresses.

The city rescinded the 22.93 acre area around a main break at 3622 SE 5th Court at 7.23.52. It rescinded the 45.51 acre area around 2213 SE 10th Avenue at 7.29.32.

Measured from the city's own break stamps, the SE 5th Court notice ran 116.6 hours and the SE 10th Avenue notice 47.3.

The first of those is the longest single notice this site has tracked in Cape Coral. It passes the 94.5 hour notice at 1135 SE 13th Street that held that mark since August 8, and it sits in the slowest tenth of the city's year: of 167 notices in the city's 2026 archive carrying both a break and a lift stamp, at a median run of 48.9 hours, 17 ran longer than this one did.

The SE 10th Avenue notice is the ordinary case beside it. Fifty eight of the 167, 35 percent, cleared faster.

A run length measures a repair and then a laboratory queue rather than how bad the water was. The city's published standard for lifting a notice is two consecutive days of satisfactory bacteriological results from the Lee County Health Department. The city has published no explanation for the longer run and none is assumed here.

Run against the city's own address layer, the two shapes hold 233 active address points and no point falls inside both, so the counts add up rather than double count the same households. The SE 5th Court shape holds 80, split evenly between Southeast 5th Court and Southeast 6th Avenue with two more on Wildwood Parkway. The SE 10th Avenue shape holds 153, of which 37 are on the avenue itself and the rest spread across Southeast 21st Street, Southeast 21st Lane, Southeast 21st Terrace, Southeast 22nd Street, Southeast 22nd Terrace, Southeast 23rd Street, Southeast 23rd Terrace, Southeast 24th Street and Country Club Boulevard.

Neither figure is a count of houses. Two of the 80 and 17 of the 153 are right of way records covering a stretch of street, and one is a lift station, which leaves 78 and 135 parcels.

Both notices were rescinded rather than deleted. Each record moved off the city's active layer and on to its rescind layer carrying an explicit lift timestamp, and the city's separate open data archive returns the same two records with the same stamps. That distinction matters here. This site reported on August 2 that three Fort Myers areas vanished from a different utility's layer with no rescission recorded anywhere, so a notice disappearing from a map is not on its own evidence that it was lifted.

Four areas remain live elsewhere in the city, at 1957 Diplomat Parkway East, 428 Hancock Bridge Parkway, a second shape at the same Hancock Bridge Parkway address and 4620 SE 5th Place. All four still carry no lift date, and households inside them should keep boiling.

A planned shutdown is stamped for about three minutes to nine this morning at 1019 SE 43rd Street, with another due at 1108 SE 39th Terrace on August 18.

The Collier County alert layer and the City of Fort Myers advisory layer both hold nothing this morning. Both are separate systems, and neither reaches a Cape Coral address.
