Jeff Miller, Halliburton's chief executive, said on October 20 that his early outlook for 2027 is mid-single-digit revenue growth and operating margins of about 15 percent, roughly 200 basis points higher, on the assumption that the North American market stays flat.

Adjusted operating margin was 12.8 percent. Revenue held at $5.7 billion against the second quarter, and adjusted net income rose to $501 million, or 60 cents a share, from 55 cents. Reported net income fell to $417 million, or 50 cents a share, from $534 million in the second quarter, after $107 million of pre-tax impairments and other charges.

The regions moved apart. North America fell 5 percent to $2.2 billion on lower pressure pumping in U.S. land, while international revenue rose 3 percent to $3.5 billion, with the Middle East and Asia up 8 percent on activity in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Halliburton bought back about $250 million of its stock in the quarter. Free cash flow was $156 million.
