Lightyear Capital agreed to take a majority investment in Prosperity Partners, reported by Paige Hagy at Accounting Today. Unity Partners, which backed the Chicago firm for the past three years, keeps a minority stake. Terms were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026. Prosperity reported $73.6m in revenue with 32 partners, more than 210 employees, and 10 offices, and ranks 94th on Accounting Today's Top 100 Firms list. Chief executive Jeremy Dubow cited Lightyear's record with tech-enabled services businesses. The firm said it will direct funding toward technology, including AI used in tax and client accounting services research, and toward acquisitions in Florida, Texas, and California. The employee ownership plan launched with Unity in April 2023 continues.
